Jeddah Community College has had one of its most inspiring series of professional development workshops in the beginning of 2015. The inset was offered by the British council for duration of two weeks. The collaboration between Jeddah Community College and British council representativesyield success.faculty members were asked about the usefulness and practicality of these inset workshops and they all responded positively both orally and through evaluation forms that was given at the end of each inset. Each inset commenced at 9 am and finished at 12am daily with a ten minutes break in between. The workshops focused on the following modules, which were chosen by the faculty members before the inset.

The workshops mainly focused on practical teaching methods that would indeed contribute to a dynamic, interesting and motivating learning experience for our young adult learners at Jeddah Community College. It supported faculty members in the analysis of teaching methodologies and developed skills inmanipulating resources we have available at the college.
Productive intellectual discussions on students’ assessment and content and language integrated learning proved fruitful for teachers. Teachers were passionate about current practical classroom teaching pedagogy especially in English for Specific Purpose.Emphasiswere given tothe development of our student’s linguistic competence in order toachieve the maximum lifetime language learning experience from Jeddah Community College.
Faculty members of the GRC department would like to extend their appreciation to the Dean of the College Dr. Ahmed Al Abdul Wahab for obtaining the budget for their professional development. In addition, we would like to give appreciation to Dr. TurkiSulami for the effective liaison with British Council representatives for the inset to be a success.
